Tactile pathways are an important part of the accessibility of public buildings and premises. The pathways are both visual and tactile and lead to important destinations such as elevators, toilets, reception and stairwells.
Tactile pathways with black PVD coating.
Safestep SVARTBÄCKEN is our all stainless steel product range with black PVD coating. The range includes tactile surface indicators, studs and contrast markings with different surfaces and fixings.
PVD coated steel is a durable, weather-resistant and maintenance-free option that is well suited to high traffic areas – both outdoors and indoors. The dark coating gives a unique, strong character and fits perfectly on lighter surfaces. An interior design feature that helps the visually impaired.
Dark profiles on light surfaces.
SVARTBÄCKEN has a beautiful dark color with a glossy finish. Both indicators, studs and contrast markers are available in three different designs and can be installed with 3M tape, pins or mounting glue.
Important to remember: Public premises should be provided with logical pathways that lead between selected target points. In open spaces such as station buildings, receptions and foyers, there should be coherent tactile and visual pathways. The paths should provide directional orientation and safely guide us in the right direction – past obstacles and to the destination points. The tactile indicators should also be installed with different materials and a brightness contrast of at least 0.4 NCS – either lighter or darker than the surroundings.
