Environmental Policy

GRP Anti-Slip Sweden AB is referred to as Safestep in this appendix for the sake of simplicity.GENERAL OBJECTIVES.Safestep’s environmental ambitions are defined in this Environmental Policy, which is revised annually. The Environmental Policy forms the basis for establishing environmental objectives and an environmental action plan. Preventive and goal-oriented environmental work is part of Safestep’s business concept and a prerequisite for long-term profitability. Safestep continuously strives to improve its environmental performance, and the specific environmental targets are raised year by year. Safestep works continuously to reduce the company’s environmental impact with regard to energy efficiency, emissions, and waste. Safestep complies with applicable environmental legislation and regulatory requirements but aims to exceed them. Safestep continuously monitors the company’s environmental impact through an annual environmental audit.MANAGEMENT, TRAINING AND COMMUNICATION.Safestep’s environmental ambitions are continuously communicated by management to all employees in order to increase awareness and encourage environmental improvements and innovations. All Safestep employees must take part in the company’s Environmental Policy and receive appropriate environmental training based on their job responsibilities. The latest version of this Environmental Policy is always available on Safestep’s server.PRODUCT AND MATERIAL SELECTION.Safestep strives to use environmentally friendly products and materials in its operations. Safestep uses as few environmentally and health-hazardous substances as possible and selects environmentally friendly alternatives wherever feasible. Safestep aims, where possible, to use environmentally friendly materials in the company’s products. Safestep continuously strives to improve its products so that they become increasingly energy-efficient and have progressively less impact on the environment.ENERGY CONSUMPTION.Safestep continuously works to reduce the company’s energy consumption and encourages its suppliers to do the same.TRANSPORTATION.Safestep operates in a global market with both customers and suppliers in other countries. We are aware of the environmental impact caused by the transportation of materials and products and work continuously to reduce this impact. This is achieved partly by choosing environmentally friendly freight options where possible, and also by minimizing the number of transports whenever possible.SUPPLIERS.The majority of the environmental impact arising from the manufacturing of Safestep’s products occurs at the company’s suppliers. To reduce the total environmental impact of Safestep’s products, an ongoing dialogue is maintained with key suppliers on how environmental impact can be minimized during production. We also communicate Safestep’s Environmental Policy to them whenever it is updated.Safestep shall contribute to long-term sustainable development by, in close cooperation with the company’s suppliers, developing, producing, and offering products with the least possible environmental impact.RECYCLING, WASTE MANAGEMENT AND EMISSIONS.Safestep sorts waste and recycles whenever possible and encourages its suppliers to do the same. We handle environmentally hazardous products correctly and ensure that hazardous waste is delivered to designated municipal collection facilities.Safestep seeks to facilitate the recycling of the company’s products and informs customers about how to best handle, store, and recycle the company’s products.
