Kristinebergs IP.
Anti slip and contrast marking.
It's the little things.
Kristineberg’s IP, or Krillan as it is often called, has a lot of history. Since 1930, it has stood there on Kungsholmen, as a stately and beautiful host for football matches and athletics competitions. Now, almost 100 years later, it stands there as part of Kungsholmen’s urban development – newly renovated, modernized and more accessible than ever.
It is Winge, through the City of Stockholm and the real estate office, that is responsible for the renovation. It is Winge, together with other partners and suppliers, who are responsible for restoring Krillan to its former glory. It is also Winge, through their site manager, who had the MIMER stair nosing strip and IDUN anti-slip strip installed – fiberglass stair nosings and anti-slip strips – instead of going ahead with the original plan to have aluminum strips at the top of the steps. Nothing wrong with aluminum, that’s not what we mean. It’s just that outdoors, under the open sky with snow, rain, ice and all that entails, aluminum is not the best solution.
The whole is in the details.
That’s exactly the kind of initiative that makes a difference: sometimes not just doing what it says, but questioning and suggesting an improvement. Those small details that make the whole much better. Replacing the aluminum profiles with non-slip fiberglass makes the facility even safer, more durable and even better in terms of accessibility. Three birds with one stone. Thank you Winge!
