Fiberglass – strong, durable, and flexible.
15 October 2025
That’s why we invest in fiberglass – strong, durable and flexible material for all environments.
At Safestep, we have chosen to invest wholeheartedly in fiberglass (GRP – Glass Reinforced Plastic) as a material in many of our products. It’s no coincidence – fiberglass combines strength, light weight and resilience in a way that makes it ideal for environments where safety, durability and low maintenance costs are crucial.

Why fiberglass?
Traditional materials such as steel and aluminum have long dominated construction and slip resistance, but fiberglass offers several distinct advantages:
- Corrosion resistant – won’t rust and isn’t affected by moisture, salt or chemicals.
- Lightweight but strong – much lighter than metal, making installation and handling easier.
- Maintenance-free – requires minimal servicing and retains its function over time
- Electrically insulating – makes it safe in environments where electricity is present
- Temperature resistant – retains its properties in both cold and heat.
The result is a material that works equally well in industries, waterworks, marine environments, public buildings and infrastructure projects.
Our wide range of fiberglass products.
Over 10 years, we have developed a full range of fiberglass products to offer complete, long-term solutions – whatever the environment and application:
- Stair nosings and anti-slip strips – safe and durable steps on stairs and walkways.
- GRP decking – stable, non-slip surfaces for walkways, platforms and engine rooms.
- Fiberglass structures – tailor-made ramps, walkways, ladders and railings
- Hatches and covers – strong, lightweight and resistant to weather and chemicals.
Each product in the range is designed with a focus on safety, functionality and longevity, while striving to simplify installation and reduce the total cost of ownership for our customers.
Our ambition is to offer solutions that last – literally. By combining innovative design with a material that can withstand tough conditions, we create safer, more accessible and more sustainable environments for everyone.
