All about sustainability. Naturally.
A building like no other.
Magasin X was completed in early 2022 and is now Sweden’s largest office building with a frame made entirely of wood. The building, which is owned by Vasakronan, is unique in its kind and has not only contributed to Uppsala Municipality’s vision of creating long-term sustainable office solutions – but also set the bar for future buildings.
For White, the architectural firm behind the project, it was quickly clear: Raw materials, visible construction details and carefully selected details that contribute to the clean, authentic and natural feel are essential. As durable as the building is, the feeling inside should be too.
Magasin X is a large project with many parties involved, including ourselves. What unites everyone is the desire for change, and not least improvement – a vision of a sustainable future. Together, we have laid the foundations for the buildings of the future.
Our contribution: an important detail.
Working closely with the architectural firm, we have ensured that the building meets the accessibility requirements for buildings today. We are well versed in the process and understand that our products are a small but important part of the whole. We therefore take our responsibility and do everything we can to make the process smoother. In this particular project, that meant:
- Providing expertise and guidance to the architect on the correct placement, dimensions and distances between products, fixing methods and installation advice to easily specify the products in the drawings.
- Produce tailor-made handrails and contrast markings that matched the wishes and needs.
- Be available for questions and concerns that arose during the project, of course.
- Deliver and install the products according to the drawings.
