Timeless brass contrast markings.
Brass is a very durable and resistant material that is suitable for both outdoor and indoor use. Furthermore, brass has a beautiful color with an elegant finish that fits on both dark and light floors – as long as they ensure good contrast with the surface. The markings add character and will only get more attractive with time.
Contrast markings play an important role in the accessibility of public buildings and premises. They are usually installed on stairs, on the first and last steps, at door sweeps and ramps, and to mark differences in floor levels.
Important to remember: According to the recommendations of the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning, stairs should be provided with contrast markings on the first and last step of each flight of stairs, and the markings should be consistent throughout the building. The contrast dots should be at least Ø 50 mm and placed at a maximum of 20 mm in from the edge, with a maximum gap of 30 mm. The contrast markings should also be installed with a different material and a lightness contrast of at least 0.4 NCS – either lighter or darker than the surroundings.
