Safestep EKEBY is our lightweight and slip-resistant aluminum stair nosing / contrast strips that increase safety and accessibility for people with impaired orientation. The strips are mounted at the front of the stair nosing and fulfill several functions: contrast marking, anti-slip and wear protection.

The strips are available in two different colors, aluminum and black, and with several different inserts so that you can choose a profile that provides good contrast with the surface. The inlays have a textured surface that provides extra anti-slip protection.

The contrast strips are easily mounted with glue or screws directly on the existing staircase.

Contrast markings are an important part of the accessibility adaptation of public buildings and premises. Remember: According to the recommendations of the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning, contrast markings should be installed with different materials and a lightness contrast of 0.4 NCS – either lighter or darker than the substrate.
