Contributes to safety.
Contrast markings are an important element in the accessibility of public buildings and premises. The dots are usually installed on stairs, on the first and last step, at door sweeps and ramps, and to mark level differences in the floor.
Important to remember: According to the recommendations of the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning, stairs should be provided with contrast markings on the first and last step of each flight of stairs, and the markings should be consistent throughout the building. The contrast dots should be at least Ø 50 mm and placed at a maximum of 20 mm in from the edge, with a maximum gap of 30 mm. The contrast markings should also be installed with a different material and a lightness contrast of at least 0.4 NCS – either lighter or darker than the surroundings.
